Note: The Government of Ontario has drafted new legislation called the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA). The ONCA sets out how not-for-profit corporations in Ontario, such as the Lowertown Community Association (LCA), will be created, governed and dissolved. It is expected to come into force in 2016, following the adoption of technical amendments later this year.
The LCA is learning about the ONCA and the updates needed to ensure our governance documents are compliant. Over the next year, we will be monitoring the ONCA implementation timelines and consulting with Lowertown residents about updates to our governance documents.
